Hijo de un carpintero y diseñador autodidacta, recibió su formación directamente sobre el terreno. Tras licenciarse en la Escuela de Arte de Brera en 1967, empezó a diseñar en el departamento técnico de una conocida empresa de muebles, donde adquirió amplios conocimientos sobre materiales y técnicas de elaboración.
En 1975 se hizo autónomo y colaboró con importantes empresas del sector del mueble. Cabe destacar su larga relación con Porada, para la que diseñó numerosos productos de éxito: desde la librería Domino hasta el sillón Lola y el tótem Mediacentre.
